Our Mission
The African Community and Learning Center is a nonprofit organization providing educational programs and services that support, enrich and empower the community.
We operate as a hub for the exchange of ideas around culture, business, health education, and other issues facing African immigrants. Serve as a hub for students seeking assistance with their education. This primarily happens after children can come and receive help with their studies. Through volunteers and, eventually, paid tutors we will help students with their classes, homework, and reading. All tutors will have background screenings as required by state and local laws and regulations for volunteers and staff working with children.
The African Community and Learning Center will also be a research center with a focus on refugee and immigrant integration into American society, with a focus on Omaha, Nebraska. Serve as a resource and collaboration center for research into broader issues of interest to the immigrant community in Nebraska and the mid-West region of the United States. Develop detailed research on how to work with immigrant learners within the OPS educational system.
